TAST2 - Picot Chain Stitch

I could not get it even. Not sure whether I like it or not. Wish there were more of a picot.
For instructions and inspiration see Pin Tangle.

Anleitung and Anregungen unter Pin Tangle.

TAST2 - Kiko's Flower Stitch

A lovely stitch!
Ein schöner Stickstich!

Stickamazonen Challenge #21

The Stitch Files - Chevron Stitch

I was never attracted by this stitch and had to work a first sample. But playing with the stitch made it more interesting to me.

And I thought it must be possible to work it somehow in an irregular manner.

The Stitch Files - Fly Stitch

Samples done for the Personal Library of Stitches class:

Some snowflake flowers I used in CQ:

The Stitch Files - Detached Chain Stitch

I worked this samples for the Personal Library of Stitches class.

Some examples of detached chain I used for Crazy Quilting.

The Stitch Files - Chain Stitch

This is what I included in my Chain Stitch file. The first little piece I made some time ago.

Recently I worked a sample using crochet yarns. I have lots of them and wanted to test them for stitching. I never dyed threads so far but perhaps I will try it some day so that I can use all the yarn for stitching.

I like chain stitch as filling stitch ...

and for crazy quilting.

Stickamazonen Challenge #16 - #20

I was a little behind! Here # 16, worked as motif instead of seam treatment, a little out of proportion:

Nr. 17, ebenfalls als Motif:
# 17, as motif again:

#18 (sorry for the marks):

Nr. 19 (das waren aber ganz schön viele Boullionstiche!):
# 19 (what a lot of bullion knots!):

und Nr. 20/ and #20:

Tast2 - Buttonholed Double Chain

Buttonholed Double Chain, what a tricky little stitch! As soon as you know how it is worked (it took me quite a while) it is fun. Seems to be great for filling surfaces in an irregular manner.

TAST2 - Turkman Stitch

Week 36, Pin Tangle. Probably not one of my favorite stitches but easy to work and even suitable for shapes.

Woche 36, Pin Tangle.

TAST2 - Spiked Knotted Cable Chain

Stitch of week 35. See Pin Tangle. I left out the Buttonholed Double Chain because I have not yet figured out how it is worked.

Der Stich von Woche 35. Siehe Pin Tangle.

Studio Journal

This post is ment to remind myself to use my journal on a more regular basis than I did in the past. I always enjoyed working in it.

Some colour exercixes:

Photos of lines I took:
Surprising coincidence:
The photo below left I took on the 5th April 2009. The next day, after I had put them into my journal, I found a blog post (on the right) where the artist uses a similar photo for textile studies.
Photos that actually led to a piece of stitching:
And just a proof that I started using my journal more frequently:
